TWO BOYS!

The below is my ultrasound at 15 weeks! They are a little hard to see, but if you click on the picture it will blow it up bigger (just make sure to hit the back button to take you back to the blog and not the X).

This picture is two ultrasound pictures of Baby A's pee pee and below that is Baby B's pee pee. (Hard to see... sorry) Baby "A" says, "I'm a BOY" and Baby "B" says, "I'm a BOY TOO"
This is a picture of both of them in one shot. Baby "A" is head down and Baby "B" is head up.
It was truly amazing to see how much they have grown in just 4 weeks. I am starting to feel some movement. When the tech was doing the ultrasound, she was trying to poke the wand on "B" to get him to cooperate and he would kick his leg up like "leave me alone".
They are fraternal and in two separate sacs, but what was so amazing is that the line in between them is part of the sac (the tech likes to call it saran wrap because it moves so easily but will not break) and they can feel and touch each other through this sac/line.
It's truly amazing that there is two precious babies in me. Seeing the them on ultrasound is surely making it real and wonderful at the same time. They look great!
I see the specialist on March 2, 2009 (which will be 20 weeks). I will have a Level II (3d) ultrasound and I will be sure to post pictures as I am sure the pictures will be amazing.
So now that we know the genders it's on with getting the office cleaned up and getting our guest bedroom (which will become the nursery) all ready. I want to be prepared early this time.

15 week Doc. Appt.

On Wednesday I had my regular monthly appointment with Dr. Dyar. I mentioned to him that I was having this pain right under my rib cage. He said, how are you reacting to fatty foods? I thought for a second and didn't think that was a problem. He said, well I want to see you back fairly soon for an ultrasound to look at your Gallbladder. That's not what I had expected or wanted to hear. Of course, ultrasound that's great because he said we could peek at the babies too, but Gallbladder now that's not good.

Drew and I lost some sleep over that for a couple nights. Going through Gallbladder surgery with twins is not what we or the doctor wanted.

Needless to say, we went back on Friday for my fasting (yes fasting - who does that to a pregnant women...) ultrasound and everything was fine. My kidneys, liver and gallbladder look great. I have been coughing a ton (which I told him about) due to two different colds I have gotten and he said most likely you have torn a muscle or broken a rib from coughing so much. The good news it's just that, but the bad news is that I am stuck with the pain until these little people are born. He said, if you were not pregnant you could take Motrin for the inflammation, but since you can't that the healing process will not start until they are born. :-(

Anyways, we got to look at our beautiful babies during this appointment and we are so excited to announce that......................... see the above post!!!!

Big Brother!

I'M GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER! We told Cameron a couple weeks ago that he was going to be a big brother and he just lite up. We got him a couple of books and he has really enjoyed reading about Sam (that's the boy in the book) and his family. Cameron has been full of questions and loving comments. He says, that he is going to read to the babies (he also understands that there are TWO babies inside mommy's tummy), and show them how to use the computer and print off dinosaurs. He is so excited and understands that he can't jump on me because we don't want to hurt the babies. He hugs my tummy and talks to the babies and kisses my tummy. It's the sweetest thing I have ever experienced. He talks to the babies and says, "this is your big brother Cameron - come out and play soon."
On the way to school the other day, he started asking Drew questions. The conversation, went something like this:
C: Daddy, so... what belly did mommy come out of?
D: Well mommy came out of Nana's belly and I came out of Grandmommy's belly?
C: Hmmm..... that's crazy!
His little mind sure is working and he seems to be thinking about it a lot. We had his parent teacher conference at school on Friday and his teacher said that he talks about the babies all of the time with a smile. She told me she felt that was a good sign that he's talking about it and is excited.

Welcome 2010! Surprise!

(The above ultrasound was done on Dec. 30th (at 11 weeks) 2nd ultrasound.)
Yes, that's right... we are pregnant and having TWINS! Are you as shocked as we were...?!? Well the shock is wearing off slowly for us.
As a lot of you know, Drew and I have been trying to grow our family for quite some time now. We found out in early Nov. (I think it was Nov.) that I was pregnant and on Dec. 18th (I will never forget the day) we found out we are having twins. Never in my dreams did I think we would be having twins. You ask, "how are we going to do it," well my answer is I really don't know. I just know some how some way we will. Needless to say, Drew and I went through and are still going through a "process" as I like to call it. Excepting the fact that our family is growing by two rather than one is a hard thing to grasp. It's not how we had it planned, but as a lot of us know life doesn't always turn out how we plan it. I worry about A LOT (that's just my nature anyways), but this is a different kind of worry. All I know is for some reason our amazing Lord has chosen Andrew and I to be parents to three children. I don't understand why we were chosen and I am still asking why, but I do know that we will do the best that we know how to do and pray to God every day for health, happiness, and safety. Our family and friends have been amazingly supportive. I've had lots of offers to help, so for those of you who have offered, I hope your offer still stands, because I will need you in so many ways and on so many levels.
My estimated due date is July 19th. My doctor says I will most likely not make it that far. He says most woman with twins deliver around 37 to 38 weeks.
Please, please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers over the next several months. I will do my best to keep the blog updated with news over the next several months. We have not told Cameron yet, but we plan to very soon. I want to make it a special announcement for him. :-)
Happy New Year!
